The Lone Summit Ranch was constructed in the early 1930's by the J. C. Nichols Company for the Dodson Family. The Ranch continued to grow until which time it became a fairly self contained village with a dairy, and a beauty and barber shop. In addition, the Ranch has its own smoke house, greenhouse, and the largest well in the area with its own fire hydrants.
The Ranch consists of over 650 acres of farm ground and meadows with over 10 ponds and small lakes. There are four houses, sixteen garages, four barns and a guest cottage. Currently on the farming aspect, the Ranch raises soybeans, corn and wheat.
The Ranch has become home to several of Kansas City's notable citizens such as the Dodson family of the Dodson Insurance Group, the Knaus family of Knaus Trucking, and the Brookfield family of Unitog. In the mid-1970s the Ranch was sold to a company out of Washington State by the name of Wasser and Winners, and it was used primarily as a mid-west rest stop for their extensive line of show cattle. There is even a "cowboy" room where the cowhands would stay during their stop over. The Ranch is a very unique place, both in its setting as well as in the operation. This actual working ranch opened its doors to the private party business back in 1990. Many have come to experience this beautiful country estate.

The Ranch offers your group the exclusive use of its party facilities, allowing everyone to get better acquainted or catch up while enjoying the beauty of the country.
